How to Care for Your Hanging Baskets and Patio Pots
It’s easy to keep your Hanging Baskets and Patio Pots looking great all season long. Follow the simple guides below and you can be a successful container gardener!

CARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUN HANGING BASKETS

Sun: Sun baskets need at least 4-5 hours of direct sun each day to thrive. They can take all day sun as well.

Water: Check basket daily for watering needs. Do not let plant wilt before watering as this is very stresssful. Water thoroughly as hanging baskets dry out faster than other types of containers. Watering in the morning is best for plants (but don't wait until the next morning if your plant is dry). "Lift" basket lightly to check. Heavy baskets are well hydrated, while light baskets are in need of water. Baskets dry out faster in high temperatures or on windy days.

Fertilize: Fertilize every 7-10 days with Jack's Classic Bloom Booster or Nature's Source Organic Fertilizer. To avoid damaging roots, never fertilize when plant is wilted or very dry.

Maitenance: Deadheading some varieties will encourage more blooms. A midsummer prune on most varieties will increase branching and keep basket looking better longer.

Shade: Part Shade/Shade baskets only want 4 hours of morning sun or less each day to thrive. Morning sun is best, but a smaller amount of afternoon sun can work (2 hours). Will vary by variety

For Shade: Shade Patio Pots need 2 – 4 hours of sun (preferably morning sun). These are general guidelines only.

Water: Check Patio Pots daily for watering needs. Do not let plant wilt before watering as this is very stressful. Water thoroughly as needed. Watering in the morning is best for plants (but don’t wait until the next morning if your plant is dry). Patio Pots dry out faster in high temperatures, sunny areas, or on windy days. Overwatering can lead to root rot. Only water when top 2″ of soil is dry or weight of planter is light.

Fertilize: Fertilize every 7 to 10 days with Jack’s Classic Bloom Booster or Nature’s Source Organic Fertilizer. To avoid damaging roots, never fertilize when plant is wilted or very dry.
