June is the month to go on a garden tour or two (or three or more)!
There is great lineup of tours in the Illinois and St. Louis area.


June 1: Gardens In Bloom Garden Tour
9:00 am –3:00 pm | O’Fallon, IL (Rain or Shine) | Produced by: St. Clair County Extension & Education Foundation
Featuring eight outstanding area gardens. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 the day of the tour. Children 12 and under are free. Get your tickets here at Sandy’s Back Porch.

May 30 & June 1: Central West End Association House & Garden Tour
Explore the ornate decor and meticulous gardens within five homes along the exclusive Portland Place in the Central West End’s 44th annual tour. Residences on this private street range in style from French chateaux to English country. $22 in advance, $25 tour day. 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Sat, noon–4 p.m. Sun. 4814 Washington, 314-367-2220, thecwe.org.     

June 7 & 8: Lafayette Square Spring House & Garden Tour
For the tour’s 45th year, the Lafayette Square Restoration Committee has partnered with STL250 to make this year’s event one to remember. After touring a dozen Victorian-era homes and gardens, enjoy an antique fair and market, plein-air artists, vintage baseball festival, 3D photographic exhibit, a free outdoor concert, and more. $16 in advance, $20 tour day. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. 2023 Lafayette, 314-588-9004, lafayettesquare.org.  

June 9:  Highland Garden Tour
From whimsical art installations to cozy woodland getaways, this year’s Highland Garden Club garden tour will offer variety to its visitors in some of the largest gardens Highland has to offer. The tour will be held Saturday, June 9 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The tour will be held rain or shine. Tickets may be purchased in advance for $6 at the Highland Chamber of Commerce, Poppy’s Inc. (formerly Widmer Floral and Greenhouse), Rural King in Highland or from any Garden Club member. Tickets may also be purchased on the day of the tour at any of the seven garden sites for $7. Proceeds from the tour benefit the club. This year’s five gardens are scattered around town and through the countryside. Tickets list the location and description of each featured garden. Signs will be placed so attendees can find their way.

June 14 & 15: Edwardsville Area Garden Tour
Sponsored by the Madison Count Extension Education Foundation with support of the University of Illinois Extension Master Gardeners. Featuring seven different sites. Tickets may be purchased the day of the Garden Tour for $15.00 at Market Basket, Edwardsville. Container Raffle is held during the tour. Raffle tickets available at Market Basket, Edwardsville both days. Winners announced on Saturday at noon. You need not be present to win.

June 21: Soulard Garden Tour
Stroll though private gardens at a variety of historic residences, watch featured local artists, enjoy live music, and stop by the popular wine garden at the Soulard Restoration Group Beautification Committee’s third-annual tour. The self-guided tour starts at the Mad Art Gallery. $12 in advance, $15 tour day. 9 a.m.-3 p.m. 2727 S. 12th, 314-773-7770, soulard.org.  

June 22 & 23: Pond-O-Rama
9:00  am – 5:00 pm
The 19th annual Pond-O-Rama Pond and Garden tour will feature 20 beautiful water features and private gardens owned and maintained by Society members located throughout the St. Louis metropolitan area and in metro east. Tickets cost $15 each and are good for both days.  They give location addresses, descriptions and driving directions. Everyone 18 years of age or older visiting the gardens must have a ticket.  Those younger do not need a ticket.  Tickets will be delivered to retail outlets around May 18.  For a list of all retailers who are selling Pond-O-Rama tickets, click here or call 314-995-2988.
