About Sandy’s Back Porch
You will find all your gardening needs and wants at Sandy’s Back Porch. We have two large greenhouses where we grow beautiful and very healthy annuals. You wont find this quality at your local box store! During the spring and summer we carry many hard-to-find annuals and of course all your favorites. We create a variety of fabulous Patio Pots and Hanging Baskets that combine great annuals that work together for sun or shade. We take the guess work out of putting a fabulous mixed container together. Aside from our lovely annuals, we have a fabulous selection of perennials, trees and shrubs, tropical plants for the patio or your house, great gardening supplies and tools and of course… great gift items! Our “Plant Adoption Coordinators” can help you pick the best plants for your garden, patio or containers.
Sandy’s Back Porch – History
Sandy Richter, in pursuing her passion for gardening, realized her dream by opening Sandy’s Back Porch in 2004. The business had its origins as Nollau Garden Center which opened circa 1946 and moved to its present location on West Blvd in 1950. Sandy and her staff are dedicated to continuing neighborhood tradition of customer service and attention to detail.
The entire staff are garden fanatics and just as passionate as Sandy is about the plants we grow and care for. We have researched and experimented with many of our products to ensure that we offer only the best available.
We use and recommend organic alternatives whenever possible. One of our favorite organic products is mushroom compost. Once you¹ve tried, you¹ll be hooked. It¹s a great soil amendment and natural fertilizer.
In our garden shop, we have organic and traditional solutions for most problems or challenges that gardeners may face. You¹ll also find loads of garden accessories, tools and gifts, too.
Your gardening success is a priority for us. Whether you’re a novice or serious gardener (or somewhere in between) our goal is to provide you with the resources you need to succeed in all your gardening endeavors!
Come for a visit… You won’t be disappointed!
